New Windows & Exit Doors:
The work of installing new windows and exit door in the hall is now complete. The wider exit door from back stairs makes it easier for children to exit the school.
School Development Planning Day
8th December
No School for pupils.
Climate Change & Transport Workshop on the 9th Nov.
Sandra from An Taisce gave a workshop on climate change with 6th class from 10.00 - 11.00 a.m. and 5th class from 11.00 - 12.00 p.m.
Sandra was very impressed by the children's behaviour, courtesy, level of knowledge & interest in this subject.
Kilcoole Feis:
Boys and Girls are busy preparing for the Feis. Some have already participated and have benefited from their experience.
Student Teachers 10th Nov. - 3rd Dec.
Student teachers from the Froebel College of Education will do some work with children in First Class, rooms 5 & 6, in Second Class rooms 7 & 8 under the direction of the class teachers.
Confirmation Meetings for Parents:
Wednesday 4th Nov. Killian House Family Centre and Wednesday 11th Nov. Holy Rosary Church. These meetings are organized by Fr. Paul Kenny P.P. and the Confirmation Team.
Desk Cleaning:
Desk cleaning on the 23rd Oct. last was a terrific success, thanks to the 30 parents who came to clean the children's tables. Your work is much appreciated by teachers and pupils.
Next Cleaning Night is Tuesday 1st December at 8.00 p.m.
The Cleaning Committee is hoping that at least 2 parents from each classroom come along on the night.
Uniform:
The vast majority of children wear their formal uniform and look very well. Thank you for your co-operation. All boys and girls are asked to wear their full school uniform every day except days on which they have PE or an after-school activity organized by the school.
Comments invited on New Design Track suit:
A few parents have asked for minor alterations to the tracksuit e.g. length of zip, cuffs etc. Please let me know your suggestions re. the design by end of Nov.
Cost of Uniform & Tracksuit:
A few parents asked if the supplier can improve the price of the uniform without compromising on the quality of the product. Paul, Kids Kaboodle is following up on the inquiry.
Reminder Re. School Charges:
Thank you to parents who have paid this years charges €95/€90 per pupil & a Voluntary Contributions of €85 per family. If it is helpful to you we will be happy to take these charges in instalments over the school year.
Thank you for your generosity:
Due to your generous support of fundraising events and voluntary contributions we have been able to buy another interactive white board. Ms. O'Neill's First class received this latest model. There are now 9 such board in the school.

Parent Teacher Meetings
Parent Teacher Meetings for 1st-6th Class:
During weeks beginning 9th, 16th, 23rd November
On Thursday 19th November - Classes end at 2.25pm.
Parent/Teacher meetings may continue until 5.45pm on this date.
The school gate on Trafalgar Road will be open from 8.30 for parents coming to P/T meetings. Other children are requested not to come into school yard until the usual time of 8.50 a.m.
Parent Teacher Meetings for Junior & Senior Infants: Meetings will take place before or after class from Monday 25th January 2010 to Friday 12th February 2010.
